Terms of use
Last updated
These terms apply to everyone who uses realsoon.co, including developers and agencies with an account. By using the site you accept them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.
What RealSoon is
RealSoon is a free information platform about new developments and off-plan homes in Cape Town, with prices, area guides and a 3D map. We are not an estate agent or a developer. We do not sell property, negotiate on anyone’s behalf, advise on price or handle money, and we are not party to any sale.
The information on the site
We compile development information from public sources (developers’ and agents’ websites, price lists, planning records and the press) and from the developers and agencies that run their pages, and we show sources and “Last verified” dates where we have them. Prices, availability, plans and completion dates change, so information may be incomplete or out of date.
Always confirm the details with the developer or agent before you rely on them, and read any agreement before you sign it. Nothing on the site is financial, legal, tax or investment advice.
Developer and agency accounts
Developers and agencies can claim their development or developer page for free. A claim needs a work email on the organisation’s own domain, and an estate agent’s claim needs a Fidelity Fund Certificate number, which we check. Our team reviews every claim, and we may refuse or withdraw one, for example when it is false.
- A claimed page shows who runs it. Paid plans add tools such as more editing, the enquiry form and statistics, for a flat fee agreed with us; we never charge per lead or take a share of a sale.
- You are responsible for what you submit: it must be accurate, and you must own or have permission to use any images and documents you give us.
- Our team reviews owners’ edits before they go live and may change or decline them. Leads you receive must be handled lawfully, including under POPIA.
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
Corrections and complaints
If something on the site is wrong, uses your copyrighted material, or you object to personal information under POPIA, tell us through the corrections form or at [email protected]. We fix errors quickly and remove copyrighted material on request. Information that is true, public and not copyrighted stays on the site.
Acceptable use
When you use the site, do not:
- scrape or copy its data in bulk with automated tools (search engines indexing pages as our robots.txt allows are welcome);
- disrupt, overload or try to break into the site, its forms or accounts;
- send spam, abuse or unlawful content through its forms;
- claim a page, or pretend to be a developer, agency or person, that you are not.
We may block access or close accounts that break these terms.
Our content and others’
The site’s design, descriptions, guides and 3D map are ours, or used with permission, and protected by copyright. You may share links and quote short extracts with a link back. Images and documents from developers and agencies belong to them. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors (Open Database Licence), and terrain and building data come from the City of Cape Town. Links to other websites are for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.
Liability
The site is provided free and as it is. As far as South African law allows, RealSoon is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on its information, or from dealings with developers, agencies or other third parties. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other law that cannot be excluded.
Law, changes and contact
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. We may change them; the date at the top shows the latest version, and using the site after a change means you accept it. Questions go to [email protected].
